Discussion: Smithsonian Censorship of David Wojnarowicz’s “Fire in My Belly”

Since The National Portrait Gallery’s act of intellectual treason took place on December 2, the story has been making national and international headlines. I have read several articles, blogs, etc. about this subject. If you are unfamiliar with this story, you can read more about it here. Some people believe this was an act of censorship (including me), and some do not. I am interested in what you think about it, and I was hoping to get some feedback from you regarding this issue. If you would be so kind as to leave a comment on this post with your thoughts, it would be most appreciated.

Below I have included the video exhibit that was removed from the gallery, as well as the original video in its entirety.

Be warned in advance that some of the images in the videos are graphic and may offend some of you.
